Add/Change Absence Reasons window
Purpose
Use this window to create the absence codes (sick, funeral, excused, unexcused, and so on) that you will use when a student misses a class.
To access this window
Complete one of the following to access this window.
- On the Maintenance menu, point to Scheduling Maintenance and click Maintain Absence Reasons.
- Use the keyboard shortcut Alt, N, H, R.

Item descriptions
Fields and boxes
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Look for Description | Enter an absence reason to look for. The grid automatically moves to matching absence reasons as you type. |
| Description grid | Displays any absence reasons set up in AIMsi. Click one to populate the boxes on the right with information. |
| Absence Description | Enter a description for the absence reason. You can enter up to 30 characters here. |
| Excused | Select this check box to indicate that absences for this reason are excused. Excused absences are eligible for an account credit for the missed class. |
Buttons
| Item | Description |
|---|---|
| Save | Saves any changes you've made to the absence reason. This button only displays if you've added or edited an absence reason. |
| Cancel | Cancels any changes you've made to the absence reason. This button only displays if you've added or edited an absence reason. |
| Delete | Deletes the highlighted absence reason. |
| Add | Clears the window so you can add a new absence reason. |
| Exit | Returns to the previous window. |
